The three geometric shapes consist of essential image of all realizations done by the human being throughout all his development period, an intrinsic meaning of process for giving shape to ideas. That’s why we chose three shapes connected with three typical building materials, which are historical and at the same time innovative due to their purity, showing the sophisticated man’s path who is able to develop raw material in order to refine its own life.
THE PYRAMID, done by raw concrete: this conglomerate is a human creation, and it was just used by Egyptians in the distant 3000 B. C. for building first walls. Then it was used by Assyrians, in Sparta and finally it was used also in Roma, where it took its name: calcis structio with the Latin Language. At the same time l’Opus Cementicium got the best degree of perfection in the first century which is described by Vitruvio in De Architectura.
THE CUBE,a geometric shape triple in comparison with the pyramid; it is built by wood, natural material, one of the first material used by human for his constructions, as the palafitte houses testify. Wood has a substantial relationship between weight and resistance. Moreover, the intrinsic peculiarity of reacting well to traction and compression improved the wood using for basically poor buildings until early decades of the twentieth century. While new technologies connected with the rebuilt wood, including also lamellar wood have contributed to let this material to sketch a real intervention style.
THE SPHERE,the perfect solid shape to whom physical objects from water drops to celestial bodies tend to. The science explains to us that nowadays the human is not still able to produce any mathematically perfect object concerning the sphericity. Despite this, we can almost place near to that shape using the Corten iron, the patented material in the thirties in the USA. Indeed, its name is given due to own characteristics: the high resistance to the corrosion, CORrosion resistance and also the high mechanism resistance, TENsile strength.
